Airgun Joker shoots young Mum's eye out

A YOUNG mum lost an eye after a teenager's "joke" with an air rifle went tragically wrong. Scott Pratt, 17, claimed he didn't know the weapon was loaded when he fired it at 20-year-old Amanda Condie from close range. Amanda collapsed clutching her left eye and Pratt immediately got a towel to stem the flow of blood. At the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday, Pratt, of Baldridgeburn, Dunfermline, admitted culpably and recklessly firing the gun at Amanda on August 27 last year. The case was heard as a campaign to ban airguns in Scotland gathered pace.
