Man shot in Diss pub

A MAN was shot in the leg at point-blank range outside a Diss pub after an argument descended into chaos. Witnesses reported seeing two men arguing in the Two Brewers pub in St Nicholas Street, late on Saturday night. About half an hour after time had been called, and the pub had emptied, one of the men returned brandishing an air rifle.

Riddle of man 'killed by air rifle'

A MAN’S body was found peppered with wounds from an airgun in a field yesterday. A dog-walker made the gruesome discovery next to a railway line. The man, who has not been identified, is said to be a 37-year-old from Hull, East Yorks. His body was found in nearby Cottingham. Several people are known to fire air rifles in the area, according to the detective leading the inquiry. A 16-year-old girl was fighting for her life in hospital after being shot in the face with an air rifle. A TEENAGER was shot in a sniper attack from a high-rise block of flats. The 18-year-old was walking with a friend in Kirkton Avenue, Scotstoun, Glasgow, on Monday afternoon when he was shot with an airgun pellet. AN INNOCENT passer-by was lucky to escape serious injury after being shot in the head with an air rifle in Colne. Armed response units were called to the North Valley Retail Park at just after 11 p.m. on Thursday, after someone opened fire on people and vehicles from a nearby embankment.

Gun Thug is Hunted

POLICE are hunting an airgun thug who shot a pensioner on a train. The woman, 61, who is deaf and has a speech impediment, was hit in the chest but did not need treatment. Her attacker, aged 15 to 18, had brandished the gun in front of three girls on the 5.55pm Aberdeen-Glasgow train on Saturday. They grabbed it but he snatched the gun back, shot the woman then got off at Stonehaven.

Cattle shot in the eyes with rifle

POLICE are on the hunt for cruel youths who shot two cows in the eyes at close range with an air rifle. The shooting happened in a field adjacent to Cowslip Green in Redhill. Serial sniper targeting motorists

A serial sniper with an air rifle has been targeting motorists passing under a bridge in County Durham, police say. Since January 2006, 34 vehicles have been hit by air rifle pellets on the A693 at Greencroft, near Stanley.
